On the 23 rd of January 2020, the European Commission launched a public evaluation process of the Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive 2014/30/EU (EMC Directive). For 4 weeks, it will be collecting feedback about the Evaluation and Fitness Check Roadmap for the EMC Directive, which will later lead to a public consultation of the act (probably in the first quarter of 2020).
Compliance with the EU’s EMC directive is required for many electronic products that are imported, marketed, or sold in the EU. Products bearing the CE Mark are presumed compliant with the requirements of the electromagnetic compatibility directive as well as the requirements of other applicable regulations. 2021-01-27 Compliance with the essential requirements of the EU’s directive relating to electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is required for entry into the EU market. TÜV SÜD is an EU Notified Body and can evaluate consumer products for compliance with the requirements of the EMC Directive (2014/30/EU). The EMF Directive is based on exposure limit values and action levels, which are aimed at preventing adverse health effects. It also includes methods and procedures for managing and measuring the human exposure to EMFs in the work place and lays down the minimum health and safety requirements for exposure of workers to electromagnetic fields (EMFs).
